The Alef Model A is a 100% electric flying car designed to be both a street-legal vehicle and a personal aircraft capable of vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) without a runway. It features eight distributed electric propulsion systems for flight and hub motors for driving, with a reported driving range of 200 miles and a flight range of 110 miles. Alef Aeronautics successfully completed the first documented real-world flight of the Model A prototype in February 2025 and is currently in pre-production, accepting pre-orders for the vehicle.  

• Test areas: In August 2025, Alef announced it had secured agreements for flight testing its "Model Zero" prototype at two airports in California's Bay Area.

• Purpose of testing: The tests at these airports include driving, vertical takeoff, forward flight, and landing to see how the vehicle integrates with airport infrastructure and air traffic.
